HOW FAR MUSIC CAN HELP US IN OUR DAY TO DAY LIFE ?



Food is good for developing the body and blood vessels. Music is good for development of the soul. Music listening experienced in 20th century with the advent of radio and transistors. The recent innovations like television, mobile phones, ipods help individuals listen the music of their choice. Modernised media has advanced technology developed to record, capture, reproduce and distribute music, taking it to a new high
Let us discuss some kinds of methods otherwise called media by which music is conveyed to the audience or listeners. Some of the popular forms of music are jazz, pop, folk, rap and classical music. All these forms are unique in their own style and sense of composition and sound. Jazz and pop have become a fad with the younger generation on account of their captivating nature
JAZZ – it is an original American musical art form which originated around the beginning of twentieth century. Some musical instruments which form an important part of jazz music are piano, guitar, drum sets and double bass, saxophone and trumpet. Musicians compile a perfect combination of these instruments to form a pleasing jazz music. Some of the famous jazz musicians are George Benson, Gary Talor and Michael Buble
POP – It is referred to as the short form of “Popular Music” A typical line-up in a pop band includes a lead guitarist, a bassist, a drummer (or an electronic drum machine), a keyboardist and one or more singers. Pop songs are generally marked by a heavy rhythmic element, a mainstream style and traditional structure. Michael Jackson and Madonna are highly popular artists in this form of music who have fan following across the world.
CLASSICAL MUSIC – is a broad term that usually refers to music produced in, or rooted in the traditions of both western and eastern countries. Most other forms of music are derivative of classical music. Many singers and musicians learn music to improve their skill sets. Indian classical music uses some unique instruments like Tabla, Harmonium, sitar etc. Western classical is usually practiced with a Piano, Orchestra, and violin, Mouth organ, flute etc. Ustad Zakir Hussian and Pandit Ravi Shankar are some of the popular Indian Classicial Musicians
FOLK: this music is limited to particular set of traditions of cultures within the country. In a very basic sense it is the music by and for the common people. Folk songs are regional in nature and reflect culture and mood of local communities. Most common instruments used in folk music are flute, banjo, mandolin, guitars etc
Music is believed to have healing powers. It soothens mind, sensitise our senses and contributes to general well being
